Waiting on Wednesday + iClue

WOW is hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine

But I Love Him by Amanda Grace (aka, Mandy Hubbard)
Release: May 2011
Tonight was so much worse than anything before it. Tonight he didn’t stop after the first slap.

At the beginning of senior year, Ann was a smiling, straight-A student and track star with friends and a future. Then she met a haunted young man named Connor. Only she can heal his emotional scars; only he could make her feel so loved-and needed. Ann can’t recall the pivotal moment it all changed, when she surrendered everything to be with him, but by graduation, her life has become a dangerous high wire act. Just one mistake could trigger Connor’s rage, a senseless storm of cruel words and violence damaging everything-and everyone-in its path.

This evocative slideshow of flashbacks reveals a heartbreaking story of love gone terribly wrong.
This one sounds like it could be a touching, intense read - I've definitely got this one on my wishlist!

On another note, Mandy Hubbard is one of the authors who joined with Lisa & Laura Roecker, Beth Revis, Lee Nichols, Kimberly Derting and Adelle Griffen to bring iClue to the blogosphere: 6 Authors, 6 Mysteries, 6 Chances to win an iTouch. Considering the amazing authors behind this (like the hilarious LiLa's - who have the most amusing blog ever, not to mention a mysteriously fun novel), it's bound to be amazing.

Intrigued? Go check out the website for more info on how it works, prizes, et cetera...and be sure to check out the first mystery

What are you waiting on this week?

  9. Lea, Great pick! Those kinds of books always leave me feeling so Sad and Depressed sometimes.

All I can see is a girl who ruined her chances of getting into a good college, losing a scholarship, being abused/taken advantage of etc...
    LOL.

My mother used to always tell me that my soul was to sensitive for this world.
When I was little and see a dead animal on the side of the road I would cry, I picked up strays starting at about 5 yo and if my Dad wouldn't let me keep them then my Mom and I found them a good home.

I have a hard time watching the news because I can't stand what's happening to those that can't defend themselves:Children, Animals, Disabled/elderly, etc...

I can't tell you how many books I've sobbed over! But I think my depth of emotion shows in my reviews.

LOL, sorry about the long post. I imagine my love of books and music is escapism at it's finest for me and that's why I love reading so much!

Thanks for the great pick, Lea, I will definitely read it.
I read Stay but haven't posted my review yet.

Stop by and see my WOW (sorry again for the long post)

  10. Intense is definitely the word I would use to describe a book like this, wow. It kind of reminds me of Dreamland by Sarah Dessen...
