Top Ten Books I've Read So Far In 2013

After a lot thinking (and scrolling through my Goodreads account), these are the top ten books I've read so far in 2013 (not all were published in 2013, just FYI):

1.  SIEGE AND STORM by Leigh Bardugo (my review)
2.  OUT OF THE EASY by Ruta Sepetys (my review)
3.  SCARLET by Marissa Meyer (my review)
4.  SHADES OF EARTH by Beth Revis
5.  A GAME OF THRONES George RR. Martin
6.  THE MOON AND MORE by Sarah Dessen
7.  THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green
8.  THE LUCKY ONE by Nicholas Sparks
9.  UNBREAK MY HEART by Melissa Walker
10.  EVERNEATH by Brodi Ashton

I think SIEGE AND STORM, SCARLET, TFIOS, and OUT OF THE EASY are my favorites of 2013 - so far, anyway! ;)

What's in your top ten?

  4. Lots of great books on your list! I loved A Game of Thrones and The Fault in Our Stars too but I read them last year so they didn't make my list. I also really liked Scarlet and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I want to read Out of the Easy too. I loved Between Shades of Gray.

    1. I was a bit late to the game with AGoT and TFIOS, but better late than never!

You should check out OUT OF THE EASY - it's really good! I was a bit skeptical during the first fifty pages, because I loved BSoG so much, but it ended up being a fantastic story with great characters. Hope you get a chance to read it soon :)

  5. I really want to read Out of the Easy, too. John Green basically makes our list every time, but now that we are all caught up with his books, I don't know what we will do :-)

I'm so behind on John Green's books - I've only read TFIOS, LOOKING FOR ALASKA, and WILL GRAYSON WILL GRAYSON, so I still have a few to go!

Oooh, I keep hearing the GoT books only get better and better! I'm still on book two, but I'm hoping to catch up by the end of the summer!

I really liked Everneath even though it totally made me cry haha. The Moon and More looks like a really amazing book, and I wouldn't expect anything less from Sarah Dessen. Great list!

CINDER and SCARLET are both great (although I loved the sequel so much more than CINDER)! You should check them both out, especially if you're a fan of fairy tale retellings :)

    1. Oh, that's too bad! I felt that UMH was a bit cliche at times, but it never felt cheesy to me. Crazy how differently two people can read the same book! :)

  12. I seriously need to pick up Siege and Storm soon, seriously! I loved Shadow and Bone, but just haven't had the chance to buy myself a copy of that one yet. I thought Scarlet was even better than Cinder, actually! I surprisingly enjoyed Out of the Easy, Ruta's writing is gorgeous. <3 <3 And gah, I have no words for TFiOS. I've had Shades of Earth sitting on my shelf ever since it came out, yet I haven't read it yet!! Bad reader, is bad, I know. ;)

    Lovely list, Lea! <33

    1. YOU DO! SIEGE & STORM is amazing! Agreed about SCARLET - I liked CINDER, but SCARLET was incredible.

"And gah, I have no words for TFiOS." - seriously. I'm still trying to write a review for that book, but all I can manage is nonsensical fangirl ramblings ;)

Oh my gosh, you need to read SHADES OF EARTH soon! There are so many secrets revealed in that book, I'm still in shock.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  25. I've only read Shades of Earth from your list. But I'm almost done with Siege and Storm! And yeah, I can tell it's going to be a part of my top ten favourites of the entire year of 2013!! I really hope I can find time for Scarlet and TFioS soon because of course I've been dying to read them ever since reading yours and everyone else's RAVE reviews for them! I recall your review for Out of the Easy, as well, and it sounded quite good even if it's not my usual kind of read.
