Top Ten Best Sequels Ever

Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish

1.  THE CROWN OF EMBERS: This book made me fall in love with this trilogy.
2.  CROWN OF MIDNIGHT: Epic, surprising, romantic, and deadly. All-around, it's fabulous.
3.  SCARLET: SO GOOD. I need the third book, ASAP.
4.  SIEGE AND STORMSTURMHOND. Need I say more?
5.  A MILLION SUNS: The mystery! The revelations! Love this book!
6.  BITTERBLUE: Not a direct sequel, but fabulous nonetheless.
7.  SPARK: Gabriel. Fire. Merrick brothers. Thank you, Brigid Kemmerer.
8.  DEMONGLASS: Exciting, surprising, and oh so humorous.
9.  INSURGENT: Not as good as book one, but still very surprising.
10. CATCHING FIRE: This story impressed me - it so surprising!

What book do you think is one of the best sequels ever?

  1. I was trying to work on my own list and was struggling to come up with 10 so I just gave up :)

My list included Demonglass, which I liked more than Hex Hall (plus it had that great cliffhanger at the end). Crown of Embers and The Bitter Kingdom are also fantastic sequels-that is one of those rare series where every book is equally good. Catching Fire was also really good. I was disappointed a little by Insurgent. I am kind of nervous about Allegiant!

My list would also include Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I think those books really kind of stood out in that series.

    Great list!

  2. Scarlet and Catching Fire are both on my list, too. They are definitely top favorites. So many great sequels I still have to read! Great picks. My TTT.

  3. Fire With Fire by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian is a sequel that I have just finished and it was so amazing, you know when you are just desperate for the 3rd book!

  8. I didn't like Hex Hall that much but I liked the idea of it enough that I want to read Demon Glass. I hope I like it more.

  9. Fantastic list. Sadly, the only book I have read is Catching Fire. I STILL need to read A Million Suns, Insurgent, Bitterblue, and Siege and Storm. There are so many series that I am in the middle of - I need to get caught up!

  11. I'm so bad when it comes to sequels cause it takes me forever to read the follow up book. But I loved Cinder and Scarlet so am really looking forward to Cress.
