In My Mailbox 41

IMM is hosted by The Story Siren, inspired by Pop Culture Junkie

Books from November and from December so far, because it's been awhile since I've done an IMM post!

For Review (accepted for review and randomly showed up):
Bought:
  • Ruined by Simone Elkeles ("How to Ruin" trilogy - I couldn't resist buying it after sneaking a peak at the first chapter)
  • Vanished by Meg Cabot (first two books in the 1-800-Where-R-U series)
  • The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray (with Buzz Bucks - loved this book! So glad I finally have my own copy)
  • Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (It is killing me to have to wait until I finish with finals before I can start this one)
  • Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen (Kindle for PC version - not pictured)
Won:

Looks like I'll have some books for a giveaway! Thanks to Lauren from Candlewick, as well as Simon & Schuster, The Book Scout, Kelly Keaton, and Sara Dailey.

Ah, anyone else have finals coming up in school? Best of luck to those who do!

What did you get this week?

Waiting On Wednesday

WOW is hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine

Book: Darkness Becomes Her
Author: Kelly Keaton
Release: February 22nd, 2011
Ari can’t help feeling lost and alone. With teal eyes and freakish silver hair that can’t be changed or destroyed, Ari has always stood out. And after growing up in foster care, she longs for some understanding of where she came from and who she is.

Her search for answers uncovers just one message from her long dead mother: Run. Ari can sense that someone, or something, is getting closer than they should. But it’s impossible to protect herself when she doesn’t know what she’s running from or why she is being pursued.

She knows only one thing: she must return to her birthplace of New 2, the lush rebuilt city of New Orleans. Upon arriving, she discovers that New 2 is very...different. Here, Ari is seemingly normal. But every creature she encounters, no matter how deadly or horrifying, is afraid of her.

Ari won’t stop until she knows why. But some truths are too haunting, too terrifying, to ever be revealed.

I love the summary for this one, it doesn't sound like anything I've read before...and that cover? Very intriguing, kind of foreboding....
