The Fourth Path

A message from the Mai:  

"Circle!

The time has come to take the Fourth Path on your journey!

Then Nine Paths Prophecy tells us, "The Fourth Path will be a time of awakening. The Circle of Strangers shall face the greatest of unknowns: Those whose trust grows truly and those whose trust rains false."

Remove the Baby Bib from your Nine Paths box. Look at it carefully. You must translate the symbol and follow the path where it leads to find more information...

I checked the baby bib, and sure enough, it had an extra tag with a "TRUST" symbol on it (and thankfully a website written down too)!

I followed the link, and came across the page pictured below. If you choose to follow the path, click the photo below to visit the website and type the word "trust" into the VENDOR CODE section to watch a quick yet intriguing Chloe King video clip.

The Fifth Path

"Circle! The time has come to take the Fifth Path! This is happening sooner than we, the Mai, anticipated. Those who would like to see the Nine Paths Prophecy denied are hunting for The Uniter! 

The Nine Paths Prophecy warns, 'The Fifth Path will shine a light on a deceiver. The Circle must keep an eye on this imposter and slow his chase by creating many false roads away from the one.' 

We, the Mai, have learned that a deceiver, Batko614, is on Twitter searching for Chloe King. In order to protect The Uniter, you must point Batko614 away from her. Please, lead Batko614 down a trail of lies and urge your Followers to misdirect him. Protecting The Uniter will take the Circle of Strangers another step closer to fulfilling the Nine Paths Prophecy."

So, I sent a message to @Batko614 and said a friend saw Chloe in San Francisco and it looked like she was on her way to a Giants game. 

There were some bizarre sightings of Chloe King: from the mall, Disneyland, Times Square, and even somewhere out at sea(?) -- this Batko614 does not stand a chance of finding her. Feel free to tweet your own sighting of #ChloeKing!

I received instructions to search for "Chloe's Crush" using GOOGLE search engine to find a hidden video clip:

Yeah. I need to learn to look, you know, everywhere. At least I only wasted ten minutes. It could've been worse ;)

Third Path

I received a package in the mail from the Mai this week!

Inside was a small jewelery box with a Bastet charm, a double-sided paper featuring instructions for the Third Path on one side and a coded message on the other. 

The small card says:

"To unmask the ancient Mai script, seek the Bastet in your Book of Mai. A secret waits beneath. Tweet the decoded message using #TheUniter."

I was initially confused because I couldn't find any of the symbols in the Book of Mai on my MaiPad. But luckily, the Mai are always extremely helpful and they sent me a link to the symbols I needed to decode the message! 

The decoded message is "The Uniter is Chloe King" 

I tweeted the message, and Mai tweeted me back: 

And the link led to this very interesting message...

This is definitely getting interesting, and I'm loving the Mai/Uniter history. And as for the dangers ahead? Bring it on. I'm excited to see what happens next. Stay tuned for more Path recaps!

The Nine Paths to Chloe King: 1st & 2nd Paths

I was invited by ABC Family to play in a game revolving around The Nine Lives of Chloe King (it looks like it's going to be awesome!) and I definitely couldn't pass up such a fun opportunity. In order to play the game, I was sent a game box to play The Nine Paths to Chloe King, filled with various clues and an iPad. 

My first two "paths" of the game have been completed, so I think it's time for a brief recap of those challenges and the interesting things the Mai have shared! :)

Path One

My first set of instructions were found in the "Notes" section (sorry for no picture - I couldn't take a decent one) informed me to fold back the corners of the "birth certificate" provided in my game box, and it revealed the words "SMILA UKRAINE. FIND THIS ON YOUR MAIMAP NOW"

Referring to the MaiMap app and clicking on the Smila, Ukraine, a message popped up:

"Success! The First Path travels through Smila, Ukraine! The city of Smila has a very interesting history. To complete this Path, find the meaning of 'Smila'..."

Naturally, I Googled the answer. I then sent it along to the Mai (the lovely hosts of this game) via email: 

Answer: "The city of Smila was named for a local girl who guided the Kievan Rus army to invaders during the Golden Horde raids. They defeated these invaders, but the girl had unfortunately died from an enemy arrow. Her name was never known, but when later settlers established a city, they named it "Smila" (meaning "Brave girl") in her honor."¹

The Mai sent me a picture of Uniter Scroll in return, for completing the challenge (pictured above - click to enlarge).

Path Two

An email arrived on my MaiPad² with a picture and instructions to answer these three questions, and then search YouTube with the three one-word answers:    

1.  What is the ancient Egyptian name for this statue?

2.  What very warm and bright star did ancient Egyptians originally connect to this statue?

3.  What city in Egypt contained a "cult" that was dedicated to the Goddess connected to this statue?

Answers (highlight to see): Bastet, Sun, Bubastis

After typing these three words into YouTube, it brought me to this very intriguing video:
