CSN Product Review: Spine Book Tower

Big Box! But only 30lbs
Awhile back, I received an email to do a product review for CSN Stores, and I chose a shelf that would not only save space but hold a lot of books (and luckily, I found something perfect). I chose....

Pros: Wide Enough Shelves, Supports Weight, Displays Books Well, Sturdy,

Best Uses: Space Saver, Shelving and Storage, Decoration

Brief Overview: For a book tower, this one is one of the best I've seen or had. It has a very sturdy base, assembly was simple (once I got past the first few steps), and it can hold a lot of books (A little more than 60 on mine, both paperbacks and hardcovers). Initially I was worried it would all fall over with the weight, but the base keeps everything in check

Size: The size is a definite plus because it isn't so large that it takes up a lot of space, but it isn't too small that it won't hold a lot of books. It's the perfect size, and it looks very stylish. I can definitely see this shelf as being simple to un-assemble again for when I move (especially good for college students who want something to put in their dorm or apartment that doesn't take up a lot of space).

Putting it together: A bit of a struggle at first, when I was wobbling as I carried this 35lb box in the house. Then when it came to putting it together, it got a bit more difficult. I couldn't attach the main back to the base (I'm completely inept at building things, apparently), so I had to put the project on hold until I could get my brother to put that part together. After that, it was simple to get the shelves on, just time-consuming because I build things slowly (and the box came with everything I needed and an instruction sheet with drawings).

  • Not too wide, just tall enough (dimensions:55.25" H x 16" W x 14" D)
  • Fits 50-60ish books
  • Sturdy base, does not fall over despite my efforts
  • Fairly easy assembly (25-35 minutes, because I'm slow at building things)
  • Brief instructions (and materials) included, but it got the job done
  • Quick delivery (4-6 days after ordering) and free shipping
  • Price: $119.99 + free shipping
Overall: I'm very pleased with this tower! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a good, strong place to put their books, especially if you want to make sure it doesn't take up a lot of space like a normal bookcase would.

(Don't mind the messy picture to the right, I just threw on as many books as I could just to see if it would still be sturdy, and to see how many books I could fit -- I was definitely shocked to see how many I could fit and that it never started to become unsteady!)

*for this product review, I received $60 certificate toward my purchase, and then I paid the remaining $59.99 out of my own money.

  1. Gahhh. I've seen this type of shelves around, but I don't think I could handle one like this. Idk... Looks weird to me. And, I mean, I don't even have SO many, many books. But, well... I see some awesome books over there, hahaha. :)

  2. The bookshelf is nice and unique and it holds tons of books but I perfer to have bookshelves with doors. I'm lazy and the doors keeps all the dust out.

  3. I actually have this same bookshelf and I love it. I couldn't believe it held as many books as I crammed on it. =]

    Great review!

  4. I love the spine bookshelf because it can hold so many books and not take up too much space. It also looks great in a room. I'm happy you like it!
